Ahh... I'm using a patched version of core.dll for another plugin, mediaslayer. This must be the cause of the problem. I'll try the standard core.dll and see if it works. That also explains why it worked at one time (couldn't remember when, but now I do).

Play music on Mediaportal and others computers play the same song. MediaPortal is the master, others computers are slaves.
(In fact slaves play the same then the output of the master soundcard).

As mentioned in my first post this had been my first thought to clear the DB.. but since I deleted the musicdbv10.db3 file nothing gets re-added to the database when I scan again. (the database gets recreated but is only a few 100 kb in size)

I have been slowly making a HTPC using mediaportal and everything is working fine - now it's down to the tweaking...
I've managed to fix the problem. The title, artist and album tags on a lot of my tracks were screwy and I've managed to fix them. Not sure what caused the problem in the first place though.
