Youd have to try it because I know the next time you go into configuration it would so no card and remove it. Whether or not that would take the recording directory with it I cant say.

Yes you are right, MP may loose people with SW encoding cards. But as you asked above, it will not be easier to maintain two TV engines. It much better for the code, the support and stability to only have one TV engine.
