ATI Catalysy 8.6 problem (1 Viewer)

My system;

AMD 3200+
1GB RAM
Windows XP SP3
Catalyst 8.5
MP RC1 SVN from May

Today I 've got my new GPU (HD2400, before X1300Pro) - there has been a need for that since HD tv is unwatchable, HD movies run with approx 95% cpu workload. Like stated before i am unable to use the cyberlink codec MP will crash, but it actually crashes when i close the TV application or wanna end a movie...(happens even to non HD material).
Anyway, in Media Player Classic - Home Theater HW Acc. works perfectly - CPU acceleration while playing pack HD content from 95% down to 2-5%. Same with HD broadcast - DVB Viewer also works with Cyberlink codec and HW acc.
Therefore I cant see any issue caused bei catalyst - i guess MP causes the problem!?

Can anyone confirm a working HW Acc. under MP and Windows XP?

I have a HD2600, and have no problems when using Cyberlink Codec in MediaPortal. I even use the same Catalyst 8.5 drivers as you, and HW Acc works great. Have you tried using another HW Acc enabled codec to see if it works?

thx for your response, as i ve written - hw acc. works in media player classic - home theater edition. (cyberlink codec 5% cpu utilization - without 80%)

Can you recommend any other hw accelerated coded for x264 except cyberlink.

Ati AVIVO codecs, and they are free. Download AVIVO-pack corresponding to your catalysts. If you're using 8.5, download 8.5 avivo pack (though I guess they're basically the same as 8.6 haven't checked file versions). Current avivo pack can be found the same place as new catalysts on ati-site. You can find 8.5 avivo for example here: Download ATI Catalyst 8.5 Avivo Package Driver for Windows Vista - Softpedia.

How can i use the Avivo Codecs? I've installed them but what must i select in the Codec selection of MP?

If you're using 8.5, download 8.5 avivo pack (though I guess they're basically the same as 8.6 haven't checked file versions). i tested the avivo codecs - but the powerdvd ones or nvidia for SD are much better
