BlueTwo reskinned for 1280x720 (mp .2.0.4) (1 Viewer)

Changes include:
Added volume bar and mute image in full screen tv
navigation via keyboard now easier in myPrograms
added xml pages for myStocks and myTrailers plugins

please note that for myTrailers, you need to download plugin the plugin and install all the files, including the strings.xml. more info in this thread:

Thank you! and a few thing I have found

I have been away from the MP board for a couple of months... coming back and finding wide screen skins is great! Now I can use MP with my new 1360x768 TFT TV without distorted icons and fonts.

a few things I have found:

Green borders around CD cover images do not fit anymore, same for Images section.

TV is jerky with chopped sound

In non Fullscreen mode the windows is still 4:3 which leads to elongated images and fonts.

I am using 0.2.0.0 RC1 No CVS updates

I'm not entirely sure what you are describing here...if you can be more specific, i'll see if i can fix it. there are some things in a skin a skinner can't change, like that annoying bulging when a thumbnail is highlighted. In some of my pictures, when i highlight an image, it does come close to not fitting within the green border.

TV is jerky with chopped sound

This is most likely an mp issue, and not a skin issue. Check and see if it happens in other skins. If this is the only skin it happens in, I would be surprised, but it is possible.

I believe this is also an mp setting and not a skin issue. I started in windowed mode and it was 4x3 for me also. I looked around the file menu and options, but i didnt see any way to change it.

Thanks for the reply. I have been on the road for a while again...

What you mention is exactly what I meant about the pictures. When they bulge out (I find that a nice feature BTW) they become bigger than the green frame on the left and right. I think if you just add a few pixels more to each side effectively making the green frame wider on the sides it should be perfect.

I have also found another thing:

The scrolling text under the animation/Album art window in the music view (lower left corner) only shows the song title. In the standard "Blue two" this text shows the album then the artist and then the song name. Is this an oversight or is the wide screen version supposed to show ony the song name?

I kind of liked the old way of displaying all the information better, would appeciate if this could be fixed?

Taipan pointed this problem out to me and i've fixed in the next version of the cvs version (to be uploaded soo)...if you aren't using the cvs versions of mp, let me know i'll make the changes for the regular version. using the cvs version on .2 rc1 may not work too well.

I'll have to look into the bulging picture some. I remember when i initially did the reskinning, there were some things i couldn't change about thumbnails, changing the xml didnt change the way things displayed. I believe it was a documented bug, and i was hoping to wait til they fixed to revisit the thumbnails. the bulging thumbnails may have been what i couldnt change, its been a while, so i dont remember exactly. If it is something i could change, i may go with making the inner thumbnail smaller rather than the outer one larger...it took a lot of trial and error to space things out effieciently. making it bigger may make them too close together. again, i'll play with it some and see what comes out.

thanks again for your feedback and suggestions....when i'm home with my htpc, i spend more time messing with code rather than just using mp, so i miss a lot of the little things.

Thank you for this skin, i love it.

I previously used MP 0.1.3 and now 0.2.0 RC1 and something changed with the last CVS (nov 1) : for items which are active, icon (like album cover art) appears clearly (that's OK ! ).
The problem is that other items are covered with a blue shade.
Maybe it is not due to the skin or it is made voluntarly but i prefer before :!: .

I have a CVS version of the skin (check the first post of this thread for link)...but i havent had a chance to update it in quite a while, at least two or three weeks. Sometimes its tough, even when i use mp on a daily ,to keep up with changes in cvs versions. Sometimes things wont work properly with the latest cvs versions. That being said, I have some time today and a couple of things that Taipan gave me to look at, so i will probably be uploading a cvs version today. I'll post to this thread when i do.

Acteo, could you be a little more specific, maybe give me a specific screen that the behavior thats changed in? I'm trying now to track down problems, and i would like to address everything, but i'm not sure what you are trying explain...thanks.

Since the last time i uploaded a cvs version i've also done the following:

I've changed the thumbnail and filmstrip views to use the same thumb sizes as the original blue two skin....yes it leaves a lot of empty space between icons, but it eliminates all the problems with highlighted icons. I don't think they've addressed some of the problems with the skinning engine and thumbnails, but until they do, this seems to be the best solution.

added the animation (please tell me if you like this or not, its cute the first time load mp, but after a while its kind of useless, and just makes the download and skin directory size larger).

made sure the volume bar and mute icon appear in both mytv and video player

updated my stocks, my trailers and my alarm.

fixed overlay display problems for the small music and video windows

I was going to do pages for the web browser plugin, but many things are still hard coded in the plugin. for now, i'm going to wait til the develoment is closer to completion before i edit the xml files.

I'm going to upload the new version at the end of the day, to give time for anybody else to post a problem for me to fix. after that it's probably going to be thanksgiving weekend before i have the time again to make any major updates/changes..
