that's interesting. i am curious what i will find next week with a (hopefully) working TV-card.

Maybe you could still try to locate a vmr9.log somewhere, as this could maybe give me a clue what goes wrong. you could try using sysinternals filewatcher (http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/FileAndDisk/Filemon.mspx) to see if a vmr9.log is ever accessed, and where it is located.

Eabin , i would like to know how much stable your dll is , seems it gave new issues , is that the case ?
That's a bit annoying that we cannot meet on real time , no chance you can reach us on irc ( we have a webclient on our mainsite ) ?

we can meet on real time, but only when i'm back home from work, or tomorrow and on weekend, when i don't have to work

it seems that there is a bug with liveTV, which i'm not yet able to reproduce (no working TV-card).

the other known bugs are:
*) doesn't support exclusive mode (but the option will automatically be ignored when EVR is true)
*) doesn't support plugins that rely on some methods for screen capturing, which was mentioned somewhere in the middle of this thread, and i haven't looked into yet. this i plan to do tomorrow.
*) i don't know if dman fixed his problems with the side-by-side error?

Laban: could you please attach a few more logs from situations where the screen went black/locked up? maybe i can find a pattern.

ok , that's nice if we can meetdo you know if your changes kept 'not evr' mode issue less ? i mean using vmr9 should be able to use exclusive mode , is it ?
Screen capturing or such doesn't harm a lot , you have time to fix that.
Dman's issue looks like a dependancy issue , will try myself asap.

vmr9 should be absolutely unaffected. i don't think anybody reported any issues with vmr9 yet. exclusive mode is only turned off, if EVR is enabled.

maybe you could test TV too, maybe you can reproduce Laban's issues too - more debug info is always helpful. i will build a special dll for Laban today with lots of debug output to help tracing the issue.

if you are running XP, EVR should work too when you install .NET 3.0 Runtime, just without HW-acceleration.

Here's another set of log files. First one not using the tsreader, next using it. No error log written.

I get sound but no picture when i'm using the old reader (HD channel). First channel (not HD) worked when using the tsreader, switched to "Discovery" (also not HD) and then the whole mediaportal locked up.

i still can't find anything unusual in your logfiles. it seems that the stream just stops.
can you confirm that if you disable EVR, everything is working as expected? because i just chatted with Jud4z on IRC who has about the same problems as you have, just that it doesn't work without EVR either.
this would mean that it is something related to the TV Plugin.
