Problem fixed via selecting Mediaportal to restart on resume. Works perfectly. Can start comp from S3 via remote, Mediaportal restarts and TV then works. Would say about 10 seconds Im watching TV from resuming out of S3.
Ill stick with this situation for now.

There is a MediaPortal.exe.config file right next to the MediaPortal.exe - if your PC crashed it might get corrupted. Since you get crashes often, you can save that file to some other place so you can restore it after a crash. That file most likely cause your Side-by-Side error.
