Hi Khris,
Err, no, double-clicking on the MSI file does not solve the problem. As I mentioned, it is not the fault of MediaPortal, but rather Microsoft's MSI itself. You need to "double-click" it on a real drive letter :)

Changing the partition won't have any effect as even though you have two logical drives, it's still the same hard drive underneath, and so you won't get any performance increase as you would from having some things happening on one physical hard drive while other things run on another.

When I start MP, go to MyTV and back to the home screen, there are always three figures in the left bottom of the screen...

Problem was caused due to playback volume on Line-In.
It's best to put volume slider to 0 on the line-in, aux, cd and any other input sources that are not used to do direct playback on.
Then verify that the line-in is selected as recording source, with the right volume settings.
