I just got mine working, but it's useless if you use the tv server plugin at this moment,
as tv server wants to use log4net.dll from framework 1.0 and the matrix orbital driver plugin in minidisplay wants to use framework 2.0 log4net.dll
I posted a few remarks about this already, but got no reply yet.

E5200 is a better solution for a multimedia computer. You can read a good review here.
O/C is better (3.5Ghz for Athlon and 4 for E5200), performances are better (E5200 is like an E8400 in gaming perf)
your Videocard is perfect. HD4830 is a good deal.

Hello...
I did more testing on various HDTV transport streams I have recorded in (1280x720, 1280x1088, 1920x1088).
It seems that all my video plays fine EXCEPT the 1920x1088 video, it is a little choppy. More specifically, it seems to skip every half second.
I am using the Nvidia PureVideo decoder so it is being offloaded to my Geforce...

This is the cam Ziggo supports officially.
I've tested it in a floppydtv and it works just as well as the alphacrypt.
And like I said before yes they can block floppydtv's, they can block any tuner they want.

yeah its fine. my first machine was a 2.4ghz p4 with 1gb ram and it ran rc3 and rc4 of MP doing SD TV (with two tuner cards able to run simultaneously) and xVids no problem. The issue (as pointed out above) is when you start doing HD (TV, blu ray, 1080p, 1080i etc) and then its really time for a dual core and a decent GPU.
But for...

This may not be a resolution issue but a video level issue.
There are two standards for RGB video signals.
0-255 and 16-235
You need to find out what your TV expects and set your graphics card to provide it. A mismatch can either give you a really dark picture or a washed out picture.

I have a few questions I hope you can help me with:
1) Where my TV is located there isn't a TV aerial and no way of installing one either, and I am not about to turn my living room around so everything is by the aerial socket (which is in a really bad place). So I watch all my television through a Virgin Media digital box. This is...

I thought I would add a bit here. As an IT infrastructure specialist with 16 years experience I have a lot of experience with performance optimisation. UPgrading is as easy as it can be (when you are able to open some screws....)
Yes, and yes the eeeTop is absulutely powerful enough to run MP with SD-TV wireless streaming, given that your connection is ok. It streams with max aof 56mbit so, no problem here.
I am runnning it with the monochrome skin, so another skin like SteamedMP...

I haven't gotten far with passive cooling yet, but I always thought it would make sense to go about it the other way - stop the CPU fan and also any intake fans, and get a quiet 120mm case exhaust fan. If the airflow in your case is good, this will draw air over all of your components and cool them without need for individual fans...

I now have a spare Dell server lying around. I was thinking of turning it into a TV Server.
It has a 2.8g P4D, 1G RAM, onboard XGI graphics and an 80G HDD a couple of 400G HDDs. The aim is to throw all my tuner cards into it and replace my MP setup with a smaller unit.

The clients do all the decoding of the HD footage and display to screen, so they need to be powerfull enough to do that. Dual core for the clients is a must, probably along with a graphics card capable of hardware acceleration of the HD video.

Like I said for those rips that aren't setup correctly for HD DXVA playback you should really try the IDC Changer GUI x264 Encoding Options for Hardware Compatibility & DXVA - AVS Forum it works very well and you don't need to do much to get the job done. Just change the profile to 4.1 and you should be good to go!

It should just be to start MP on another computer and start another channel on that. You could also try to start recording one channel and then try and watch another.

Well in my case I use a D-Link DGL-4300 router (108Mbps) with a D-Link DWL-M60AT antenna, that serves all my house (on 2 floors), and also my neighbour, to whom I granted one IP based on his computer's MAC address. He gets a 1 Mbps signal at 30% signal strength, enough for basic surfing.

Please list your opinions, and if I should be...
