Good Morning All, I have just finished my first HTPC. I bought a Panasonic 34" Tau Screen HDTV (CRT), got a great deal on it, for my, hopefully, Main Display. I hooked up the HTPC to it and I have Overscan, not a huge suprise. The suprise has been compensating for the overscan. I have been trying on and off for about 3 weeks...

Interesting. Since dvi-i is digital i thought it would not affect to guality of picture. Just having max lenght. Quality of cable i can understand, it is same allways when trying to get near to theoretical max performance. Resolution would be 1366x768 or 1366x1008 (not sure this one).

I thought it needed to use the CPU to decode the TS stream to extract the individual MPEG stream. Some of this also depends on the card, and I only have the mx4000 to try it with. My server originally had an older TNT2 card in it.

I have an Accent 100 case with similar dimensions to the LC03V. I am using CPU heatsink fan only ( a Zalman CNPS7000 @ 5V). PSU is antec fanless. With an Intel P4 1.8, max temp is about 42C. Almost zero noise!

Hi, I'm running MP on a Pundit-R and just started experimenting with PVR Scheduler (not with Fred's Plugin) yesterday. In the first trials, my Pundit-R woke up, did the trial recording, and went back into standby without any problems. The only thing which disturbs me is that on manually waking up the machine from standby...

Take a look at "iRAM" from Gigabyte. It´s a PCI card, plugged via S-ATA and PCI with up to 4-8GB of RAM. You can boot Windows in a few seconds, including MP. Gigabyte will sell it this month for ca. 60,-€ + RAM. I saw pictures with PCMark04. The iRAM system had 56560 ponts there! Here are some pics:

Champion, that fills the knowledge gap. So that'll mean I'll only have 80% to play with using MP. Things I should have researched before getting this mobo! If MPG4 plays ok, then that'll do... I haven't been tempted to MCE yet (although I did acquire the remote), and I'd need to be super-keen to go down the linux path, although...

lol! thanks for the advice about the match :-) I have tried only 1 card in the htpc and that doesn't make any difference. When i had two cards in together they both had the same problem (i.e. put the aerial in card 1 - try tuning and no joy, put aerial in card two - try tuning and no joy) so I'm assuming that they both work - I...

Well after stress testing the Shuttle box over the weekend, I've deceided it's not going to work. Not so much the box more like it doesn't really like the video card and being on all the time. So made a deal with the Wife. Going to swap her computer for the Shuttle (after I remove all the really good stuff, she won't miss it). Then...

Do not mix things. If limited to hardware solution: Cards designed to receive digital data only need a decoder. The encoder is only needed if the card has to encode analog to digital. The PVR can not receive a DVB-T signal so iif you want to switch to DVB-T in the very near future, then swap the card. Nova-T: Hauppauge...

héhé Anyway, the bios remembers everything now...(let's hope it stays this way!) What the problem was, I can't tell, but I flashed the bios 2 times and replaced the battery a few times. Today I got my Hardware except for the case. So I ripped off my old case and built it temporarely into this one. And It runs just perfect. No stocking or something. As soon as I can get an HDTV file to test with I'll check it out on the 9100IGP which should be slower than any version of the 9200. If it works on that it's just a question of what the minimum CPU it will require and whether or not there will be problems with a tv tuner... which I doubt unless the CPU can't keep up.
