It basicly depends on the quality of the ad converters of the vga port.
I have 26" LCD tv and I didn't see any difference in picture quality.
There is only one thing I'm considering, as I live in 50Hz europe, the vga input can be switched to 75Hz which is a multiple of 50Hz. Which should give better sync between picture and sound...

Well... Got a bit of a problem with some of the parts. The DVD Burner and gaphics card crashes inside the cabinet. The problem is that the fan of the grapichscard is aboit 1.5 cm to big... I have media portal running on the main drive of my machine (60 gig hd, sharing mp and xp) and have recently purchased a 200 gig hd...

I did actually find that solution and tried it - it looked blurry on the LCD.
Maybe its a TV specific thing - I have a Toshiba 37WL58 37" LCD.

I've just spent many frustrating hours trying to make my ASUS A8N-VM CSM motherboard graphics do 1:1 pixel mapping on my 37"...
The 1.5 CPU is more than enough. With a hardware encoding TV card like the PVR-150 i've seen people run MP installations on 800mhz systems - complete with DVD and DivX/XviD playback.
Definatly agree on upgrading to 512MB of memory. Anything more than that - especially without any gaming - would just be under-utilized.

I did think of that, It would save lots of space. The only thig is that i could not find a nice way to connect it all and finding a 200 watts external power supply was an impossible task too.

the 2496 is working very well. I dont know what you mean by 2 different cards, but it offers a hardware mixer that is accessed by several "virtual" cards. Most usefull for pro use I think.
Stable drivers, good sound.
