apple tv can play network shares so it's not just itunes stuff.
personally, I think you should be comparing apple tv to stuff like wdtv live hd, roku player, popcorn hour etc.
I'd recommend WDTV live if you want a stand alone media player that can play all formats, play networked files and files of an external usb HD...

(SchedulesDirectPlugin-MP1.2.3.zip) in den richtigen Ordner kopiert habe. Funktioniert nun einwandfrei.

I have installed 1.3 and see what you mean about the video database, looks good. Need to do some more checking ref. BR playback but all good so far. Its good to know someone is looking into Flash streams, hopefully they can get it working soon.
