The current situation
The current uncertain economic climate has created the cancellations of a great number of interesting and entertaining shows. One such show is "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" this one was started back in 13th January 2008. There is one drama however which hasn't yet met the same fate which is known...

I'm running MP 1.0.2 with Vista Ultimate x86. I was running the same hardware but with Windows XP Pro and not experiencing this problem.
When I switch video sources/device with my Logitech remote, the computer hibernates. I've disabled Vista Media Center and programmed the Logitech to leave the media center ON. I want my media center...

It was just announced that CableLabs will be allowing software verification of SecurePath for Win7 MCE. This means that any Win7 machine with the correct drivers will be able to use CableCard devices including for SDV (Switched Digital Video), this opens a whole new era for homebuilt PVR's in the US. I'm wondering if MediaPortal will...

It won't be ever 100% seamless experience when using 3rd party player as for example OSD skin is always limited to 3rd party application's look, not possible to mix GUI and video (just think about stopping video playback or live tv to just to check the EPG content)...
Greating a simple graph that plays some URL or local video is...

XBMC has a live cd installer now, effctively you can burn to CD and install a booting Media Center with little or no Linux knowledge. Very neat.
There's been a project running in XBMC for a "Unified PVR" providing TVGuide, Recording management and Live TV standardised interfaces to any backend anyone cares to develop into. I think...

I'm sure everyone here is familiar with this media center fork of XBMC, for those of you who aren't familiar here's a link to the...
I had the same issue with a 2 hour WE offset. I also noticed from the logs that the grabber now seems to apply a timezone compensation based on your regional settings. So, after several failed attempts to change the 2 hour offset, the solution for me was to simply uncheck the 'apply time compensation' box in TV config.
It now...

I had some problems with time offset´s in XMLTV, as it was showing the time
+0200 ahead, and in that way messing my epg up.

We just release XBMC Meda Center 9.04 point release so the server is a bit overloaded at the moment.
That is just one idea but not the main function nor something that is likely to be added first. Their idea is that this media manager will foremost be a standalone desktop application to manage your media files, meaning renaming them...

Thanks for your fast reply and clear explanation Tony.
The ATI panels shows that a Sony is connected and resolutions up to 1920x1080.
I think that de T43 does not output anything then on the DVI when a higher res is selected.
That makes clear why the screen stays black, however the X300 chip can output 1920x1080???
So, for...

Seems to be mostly with videos that are xvid that I get a poorer picture quality. Almost as if sometimes there is an over saturation of the picture. Hard to explain but it's like you see waves of colour over someone's dark black jacket (green or purple) or blotches on a person's skin (as if over saturated). I have SAF installed but I...

I just ran across this article that claims that many of the HDTVs people already have are 3D capable with a fairly easy and cheap tweak. Apparently the software analyzes video that was not originally shot in 3D and makes its own conversions so you can watch any video you already own in 'Tri-Def.'
I won't be trying this any time...

Anybody from the Twin Cities out there?
I've been considering upgrading my case to a proper component-style HTPC case. The problem is that unlike most other parts of an HTPC, aesthetics are critical in selecting a case. There is nowhere in my area (southeast MI, Detroit area) that sells this kind of equipment and I've never seen...
