The problem is more to do with the amount of graphics memory available than the actual gpu.

If you are using low widescreen resolution like 854x480. You cannot save Television -> capturecard settings at all. You dont have OK, Cancel buttons available anywhere (need to change 800x600 or bigger to apply changes). Maybe setup need little tweaking with low resolution users?

I've tried a Sony DRU-710A and a DW-Q120A without success. Both have been modded to be RPC1 though. I also installed AnyDVD to make sure there was no DRM weirdness going on.

Yes it is when running the wizard from settings-<wizard inside the program..
The "setup mediaportal" never gives me a wizard just a bunch of settings that i can change..

Just tested this & yes if you set windows fonts to 120 dpi, this problems you have appear, black fullscreen view with TV & video.
DirectX seems to not accept those new font settings & reports bigger screen size (maybe DirectX needs bigger settings to show or just a windows bug) than your settings.
