Rtmpdump is a tool for downloading rtmp-streams. It is widely used so changes are that someone did already find the correct parameters, you'll just have to check.

Will check that vpn in the near future

After some investigations using your vpn-suggestion, the only conclusion that I can make, is that the servers hosting the southpark episodes are often not responding. The urls that are used match exactly with a view in my browser, so at the moment, I'm a bit at loss here

That can't be, since all videos play perfectly when I use the site in Firefox. But I do have a theory. Whenever I play one of the South Park World videos in Firefox, an advertisement plays before the video comes up. The video doesn't start to load until that advertisement is finished. I can't skip it or fast-forward through it. They really want me to buy that Chevrolet. But anyway, this may be the problem, that OnlineVideos is trying to get to the video and the site won't let it because the advertisement doesn't get played.

When I have a chance I will check out more sites and find which ones have problems.

    I'm using MP1.2.1_FINAL, OnlineVideos 1.0.0, and SAF 605 running Windows XP/sp3 on a 32 bit system.

I can't include a log file because the problem I'm having is while configuring OnelineVideos. I've attempted to collect a ProcMon Log, but I can't tell which event is the indication of the error.

In MediaPortal Configuration, under Plugins->OnlineVideos -> Codecs, when I press the Test button for any of the Splitters, I get an unhandled exception.

I have verified that I'm able to play flv, mp4, and avi files on the system using GraphStudio.

This problem seems to have occurred when I updated OnlineVideos to 1.0.0.

I actually have 4 systems running nearly identical software. The main system I use as an HTPC stopped working some time ago, but I had been updating multiple packages so I didn't know which one caused the problem. On another system, I stepped through the update process, updating one package at a time, and verifying that OnlineVideos (and it's config dialog) still worked. On this system, when I updated to OnlineVideos 1.0.0, I now get errors when I attempt to watch videos from YouTube, and I get the unhandled exception when I press the "test" button in the codecs config dialog.

Okay... I've just verified the above...

I uninstalled all of my codec packs (SAF and LAV {as installed by by OnlineVideos 1.0.0}), and MediaPortal. I verified using GraphStudio that I am unable to open a MP4 or FLV video file.

I then installed SAF v605 and MediaPortal 1.2.2_FINAL. Ran MediaPortal Extension Installer to install aMPed, World Weather, and OnlineVideos v 0.33.0.1.

I verified that I'm able to open both MP4 and FLV video files using GraphStudio. I ran OnlineVideos' configuration and was able to verify that it used LAVSplitter for FLV, MP4, AVI and MOV files, but uses qasf.dll for WMV files.

However, when I ran MediaPortal, selecting OnlineVideos, it wouldn't update my sites because I'm not running 1.0.0. I was however, able to view videos from YouTube and other sites. Watch-Movies required an updated dll (which wasn't available because OnlineVideos wouldn't update my sites).

I then quit MediaPortal, and ran MediaPortal Extension Installer and selected Update for OnlineVideos. I watched as it installed version 1.0.0 and LAVFilters.

I then ran OnlineVideos' config from the Extension Installer. I now get an unhandled exception when I press the Test button in the codec screen. Here are the details of the unhandled exception:

If you use the search function you will find problems with a not registered MPUrlSource.ax ... Might be your problem, but as you didn't provide logs, which is not important in your opinion, I can't say more.

I hate like heck to answer my own question... Makes me look like I'm talking to myself... and that means I'm crazy... or something. I went ahead and ran MP and collected logs... looked at the error.log and found an interesting message. It turns out
that this is a known problem and is easily solved by this:

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/822520-post27.html

    So... I'm back in business.

Oh... and I just saw that offbyone posted a reply to my message....:D It's not that I thought the logs were unimportant... I wasn't generating logs because I was running the configuration tool... and as far as I can tell, there isn't a way to generate log messages from that tool.

It is true that I was seeing problems in MP when attempting to view video files... and I should have generated a log file. But... I didn't think the two problems were related. I thought the error I was seeing in the config tool was related to an incompatibility with the codec's installed with LAV. I didn't realize I was seeing two symptoms of the same problem. My assumption was that I needed to get the codec's working before I attempted to submit a bug for the URL problem I was seeing while running MP.

In other words... I assumed that when I said that I wasn't able to view videos... you would respond with something like "Your codec's are messed up."

Sorry... I guess I was over thinking it.:sorry:

    Hi,

Firstly thank you for such an awesome plugin!

I have newest version of OLV and I find that with Watch series the program will buffer to the preset 2% and then play.
Whereas the Watch movies always buffer the whole 100% before playing.

I have uninstalled LAV and when it gets to the 2% on a movie it comes up with the cant play error due to not having correct codecs.

With LAV installed it gets to 2% and the CPU usage goes to around 70% and the hard drives are working more but it wont play until 100%?.

I have tried Blue wide Skin, Uninstalling LAV uninstalling OLV and reinstalling.

I have attached a log which shows the Watch series and 2 minutes later it starts to play.

With the Movie it takes 20 minutes to start at which time the buffer is at 100%.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    James
