You should talk to catavolt then.
Inside the MP GUI you can filter sites e.g. by language and then remove them one by one. There has been a request for "Remove all" (never mentioned before!) which I will add for next version. Why do you say it's slow and awkward? No plausible reason for that.

In MP config, I can just keep clicking on the delete icon to delete a load of sites in a row (and it would be even better if it was possible to select multiple sites before deleting) whereas in SitesManager I have to open the context menu and select remove site for each one (and there can never be a possibility to select multiple sites this way).
I guess "Remove All" will help, but I'll still have to open the context menu and select "add to mysites" for each site I want. If, for example, in MP config the tickboxes permanently disabled or enabled sites and there was a "Disable/Untick All" button, it would be a lot quicker to go through the list ticking the sites I want, than it is to add them in SitesManager.
EDIT: Also, I can rearrange the order of sites with MP config, which I can't do with SitesManager.
