Uninstall the ehome receiver in device manager, unplug the receiver, now reboot and once windows is fully loaded, reinsert the usb receiver and let windows install again.

Think it's coincidence that it went at SP2 install, but who knows, its just the driver that corrupted, happens occasionally.

    Regards

thanks for your tip, but it I have the problem again. After the wakeup I hear the sound, which is played when a new device is connected, the sound plays a few times but the remote is not working anymore. There is also a warning in the device manager at the ehome reciever.

there was no box to tick during the uninstall. I made a right click on the reciever and selected deinstall. After that it dissapeared from the list. After the reboot I connected it again ande the message for driver installation at the tray popped up.

I uninstalled SP2 and the remote is working fine again. I think I will stick with SP1 for a time...

    Hi,

I am aware this is my first post, I actually only registered to post this up for other people because I know it caused me problems.

I am also running windows XP with my 5100, and although the solution on this thread does work it is very fiddley. I was randomly browsing when I found this

    linky(translated): Google Translate

    linky(orignal): jike.free.fr/blog

This driver has worked perfectly for 2 days now. I take absolutely no recognition for writing this driver at all, the linky is to the original creator of the driver and he deserevs all the credit, hats off to him, not me :)

    have fun :)

    Hi,

I tried the above mentioned patched driver and it is the first working solution for me.
I couldn't get Eventghost to work stable. Somehow I got crashes and strange behavior from eventghost (latest version) all the time if I tried to configure Mediaportal and MCE Plugin.
This is a great solution. Here is the link directly to the blog post again: Google Translate

    Best Regards
    Daniel

Many thanks for the answer. So far I've used Logitech's Harmony hub. This allows you to control all components (including the media portal). I have now contacted the Sofabaton hotline. It should also work here like with the Harmony. Unfortunately, not all of the IR codes are correct. You can also learn commands here. But that doesn't...

You can always try, select any window, turn off the Media Portal, change the ID of the selected one to the desired one (plugin) and check.
