I uninstalled, installed, tried to update it again. Timed out.
I uninstalled, rebooted, installed. Tried to update it again. I made sure that I never left the app and the screen didn't lock (swiping screen every couple of minutes)

It took about 45 minutes, but it finally downloaded and installed. Thank you!

For curiosity sake, why isn't the update hosted on iTunes?

Thank you again for a great app!

It's good that you finally managed to get the update but it shouldn't be that problematic to upgrade:(. Lets hope that that next update goes smoother, it shouldn't take that long before we can get it ready.

MediaPortal iViewer is developed using the Command Fusions iViewer app. It's that company that bundles their app with our gui and publish to the app store. Having our own update feature give many benefits. E.g. Command Fusion don't need to handle with Apple for each update. The initial release took many turns at Apple and it took a very long time before they accepted the app. With own updates we have no delays.

Lets hope that upgrading to the 1.2 version goes smoother, it shouldn't take that many weeks before it's ready.

    Problem with Movies

I'm running MPiV 1.1 and everything is working fine, EXCEPT I don't see any movie details. The Cover art is loading properly, and movie names are shown correctly in list view. Also, all the correct information is displayed in "Latest Movies." However, in the Movies pane, if I click on a movie, all the detail information is missing (ex: Title, release date, running time, Description, etc.). It shows the word "Title" instead of the movie name and shows the word "Description" while leaving all other variable fields blank.

When I start playing the file, the Now Playing pane DOES correctly show info (Title, running time, genre and cover art). I DON'T have the problem with TV Series or Music (which show the proper detailed info), only movies has the issue.

I'm using moving pictures and the issue does not seem related to the MP extended config because all movie information is displayed properly in WebMediaportal.

The MPiV log shows the following:

"Exception caught when executing callback function (status, headers, body) ..."
    and
"Exception: TypeError: 'undefined' is not a function"

I can try to post screenshots and detailed log file if needed.

    Thanks for any assistance,

Hi SINCowboy. I can reproduce your issue. It's caused by a failing Youtube trailer request and the 1.1 version depend on getting a reply. I have reworked this some time ago and the movie details show no matter if the request fails or not. This will be included in the 1.2 version that will be released within short. Just need to test some more and prepare the release. When it happens depend on real life things. Should find a working trailer api as well....

Thanks JohanJ, I look forward to v1.2. In the meantime I will play with my trailer api and settings for Youtube trailers. (I didn't realize it was broke because I never watch trailers)

JohanJ, I reinstalled MPiV and can confirm the movie detail problem I had is only present in v1.1 (works fine in 1.0), but now I have same issue that a previous member mentioned when trying to upgrade back to 1.1, "Download Failed. Failed loading GUI file..."

I just tested removing yhe purchased MPiV, installing 1.0 and upgrading to 1.1. Went fine and took a bit more than a minute to upgrade.

Users that have reported problems with upgrading are located in US and Australia so it could be that loading from there is much slower from our server.

the upgrade back to 1.1 took about a dozen attempts but it finally worked (from the US). I look forward to 1.2

    Thanks for the support.

    Hi
I am not sure if this has been asked before but I can not find a response.

I have been using iViewer from Command Fusion for a while now and are so impressed with the work North Coders have done I want to use your Media Portal app, my problem is I want to integrate it with my whole home control system so is the possible to integrate it with a current iViewer project or can we buy the GUI pack ?

Good. I am pleased that that is now working for you. :) If you have ever looked at MP debug log files, you may have noticed that apparent errors are not rare, but these are "errors" that do not affect the functioning of the product. (It is not desirable to have these errors in the log file, as it misleads users, testers, and...

Decided to try installing x64 v1.33 after seeing this post. I had x86 1.32 installed. Installed x64 first without deleting the x86 version to check it was working. Then deleted x86 version. Then reinstalled x64 as it didn't like it. Anyway streamedMP is working perfectly for me.
