Have a look at "Got all Media". There isn't any stuttering playing DVD, MPEG2 or LiveTV!. You have to use Vista with Aero enabled and EVR as renderer. I have set the graphic clock to 75 Hz. There must be a way to get the same prof. earnings in Mediaportal. Regards, hegi

    sven,

can you use the attached version and try to reproduce the problem? this version generates rather excessive debug output about frame timings and stuff like that. maybe i can learn something more about your problem this way. be aware that the vmr9.log may get large though.

you just need to install .net 3 runtime. but i don't think it is a good idea, because picture quality is worse on XP with EVR, because you won't get any hardware acceleration. it won't get you tear-free video or any other benefits either. the only thing i can think of that is better is the better handling of colorspaces, but i haven't compared that myself yet.

Have not too many great things from changing to Vista, from XP Pro, but EVR seems to be one of the major improvements over XP Pro.

Never needed "use exclusive DirectX" for VMR9 as never had a problem (so i thought), but EVR output far superior across the board, and less CPU and memory intensive than anything used previously.

Would really like this ported for full MP use with XP as well, if M$ allowed.

Thanks Eabin for your hard work with this, not a easy task.

    Regards

i got one more build for you to test tonight. this one is slightly experimental, and meant for those of you who have problems with smoothness. it is not much different from previous builds, mostly i increased the priority of the renderer thread to realtime. this may have unknown side-effects, so please test and tell me if there are any problems with it (or even better - if it fixes any of your issues).

    edit: attachment added

I meant use MP client to try to spot how it's requesting streams for specific channels and then try to do the same with VLC. TV Server development looks dead so I'm afraid you're going to have to figure that out by yourself if it's even possible.

Got a reply from SD ... "Looks like your last successful download was on 5/23. On 5/24 for some reason we received 194 connections between 10:54 and 11:05 triggering a denial of service attack ban. The logs show it was lifted on 5/25, but I still see the entry in iptables. I reset fail2ban and hopefully you're working again." Weird...

I would have to know more details, and ultimately, I'll have to test it when I get my new display, but an AI answer I got (I don't trust AI and this may not be correct) was that HDR is encoded with the HEVC codec and I know MePo uses the HEVC codec to play 4K UHD Blue-ray discs. So, there is at least the possibility that it will work...
