You will get excellent support here, but you need to provide a great deal more information for people to be able to help. In particular you will need to provide your logs.
This is how you gather your logs: MediaPortal Forum - Announcements in Forum : General Support

Hi pokekevin
I can see you've commented/raise quite a few threads about this problem so I know it is annoying for you. The issue seems to be this exception:
Unfortunately I know very little about the skin engine however maybe the reference to thumbnails gives you a clue. Hopefully one of the skin experts can be more helpful...

Hi again CSMR
Do you use the PC for other things? If not then perhaps you can disable the screensaver in Windows and use the MP one instead? Check the "screensaver" settings in the "GUI" section of MP configuration -->here<-- (make sure to be in advanced mode). A quick google search suggests that there are quite a few applications...

Hi again
We still can't see them. You need to enable an option in your profile so that we can see them. Even then, I would prefer it if you could provide log files. It only takes a minute and it should be very straightforward if you follow the instructions. Logs are actually required for support threads because we need to know more...

You're right, without the hack you can't even login as another user without it logging off the first one. When you install the Concurrent RDP hack which fixes this, you can also choose whether the SingleSessionPerUser is set or not.
Thanks for clarifying when MP needs to be restarted. I guess the changed settings just don't take...

Hi again

Ahhh, I see. It sounds like Sage doesn't/didn't handle on-the-fly video/audio stream changes, hence the need for a delay that gives the STB long enough to change channel...

Hey everybody,
I'm a poor soul that has been abandoned by SageTV. I've looked at the alternatives, and Media Portal appears to...
Hi jasonblack
There is certainly no way to "disable" timeshifting. In fact I would consider the mechanism for timeshifting (ie. writing the stream to an HDD and reading it back) as a core part of the link between the MediaPortal front end and TV Server back end. It is very far from trivial to remove.
Technically the major...

With rather large files (BluRay .mkvs), especially if it's the first file I'm playing from that drive in my media server (unraid server), the delay of the drive spinning up before the file can start planning can, and has, frozen MediaPortal, requiring a MP reboot.
Granted, this is rare, and usually the video just freezes for maybe...

Understood.
As you prefer. I would be looking at the renderer statistics (press shift + 1 - the exclamation mark) to see them in full screen and see if the renderer is dropping frames. Also check the evr/vmr log file to see if there is anything suspicious.
Good luck - I hope you manage to find a solution! :)

It should work just fine (I use analogue audio all the time).
Some system specs etc would be useful....
A few suggestions:
1. Plug the speakers into the TV and run sound over HDMI as before - if the TV doesn't have phono or 3.5mm jack audio outputs, it probably has sound output on one of the SCART connectors - you just need to get...

Well, my SSD just died and actually have had some lost clusters over the last weeks - maybe it will help to replace it. Anyway, waiting for a new drive arrives.

Having noticed the my HD was chugging away after booting Win7 x32, I checked the Scheduled Tasks and disabled a few obvious ones like Disk Defrag. I also noticed that despite opting out of the Customer Experience Improvement Program, there were still tasks associated with that that were running at login, so I disabled them as well...

Many thanks erron - I ran into the same issue in 1.2.1 (SideBySide Error ID 59) and MP would not start, after my power died and UPS battery was dead and system was not shut down (MP was still open and probably doing something!) :( So the issue is not related only to Windows Update. Your fix worked great for me, and saved me many...

Hi austuff
Yes, I confirm you need to set up the loopback adapter or hack the registry in that situation. MP requires a connected network adapter for operation even in a single seat environment. That requirement is linked to the requirements of some of the protocols that MP relies on for communication between the frontend client and...
