Anyway decided to to a upgrade to 1.1.2
all went well and all succeded
but now when i watch tv (either in the media portal it self or just from the preview button within the tv service

if you register MpaDecFilter.ax (should be in the mp directory but not "switched on") by typing regsvr32 MpaDecFilter.ax ..then the MPA Audio Decoder should appear in the list of available audio filter codecs
give it a try and make sure u go into the MP setup app afterwards to send it to SPDIF (also works for HDMI) or else the...

no, you don´t need it really, if your nVidia 7300 can DXVA (afaik it can). Just grab the MPC-HC codec with MPC-HC subtitle engine.

I am getting an odd error when I re-start my PC. If you are using SAF5:
- make sure you have subtitles enabled durning SAF setup
- start your blue-ray - double click on FFDshow (FFDshow DxVA) icon in systray - subtitles - uncheck all except Closed Caption

Yea thats where all my other plugins are, eg Moving Pictures, My TV Series etc etc. and for years have been configuring them all in there, but anything installed via the MPEI doesnt show in there at all.
In the MPEI installer interface, they all show as installed.

FWIW I came across this thread after a similar issue so will add my fix here - check the Keymap.xml file - a working one is about 32 KB, my one was only 1 KB - simply restored from a backup and all went well again.

Recently when trying to run Last.fm windows crash report pops up and forces Media Portal to close. I have tried many different ways...
Is it possible to have the pictures screen saver that windows 7 mce has whereby a lot of pictures are shown as thumbnails, then randomly zoomed in, works really well when music is playing.
Can mediaportal do this, or is there a plugin, I presume it would be a screen saver feature rather than in mypictures

Well like I said I never got the message until I upgraded to 1.1.2 - so I assumed it was something inadvertently introduced into that version.
I'm at work right now so I can't restart mediaportal with debugging turned on (maybe it already is though, not sure).
I'll try to remember to restart MP with debugging on when I get home...

Since upgrading to 1.1.2, I have noticed a decrease in speed...
Funnily enough I had been trying the various new dshowhelper dlls.
At lunch I swapped back to the default 1.1.2 one, and I've had a HD channel playing ever since.
Currently it has done done 348,000 frames and only dropped 216. Which I think is a vast improvement to how it was before... Interesting!
