Nothing amazingly new here, or perhaps even useful, but might interesting to some of you here.
Handy for when I'm in Linux and need to keep an eye on TV programs so I can switch my box back to windows/MP.

I bought some self powered USB extenders for our village webcam. I got them off eBay - sort of have a built in hub (I think) very similar to this here. By using one of these along with a standard USB extension lead I managed to get the webcam working OK on a 20m lead. It is a cheap Logitech webcam only working at 640x420, and running...

Well...even though this isn't about MP, since I've been with these forums for some time, I thought I'd go ahead and share one of my projects. It's basically a NES PC gaming rig I built.
Now this isn't a new idea - many people have already done NES PC mods in the past. But I've always been a little disappointed with the other mods...

Thanks for the advice.
I'm torn between AVI and H264 because, as you say, the former only uses 50% of my CPU so MP remains usable, whilst the latter uses as much of my CPU as it can, which makes MP rather unusable, but H264 does give noticeably better quality for the same file size. It would be nice if it were possible to specify...

Hi aucklander
DiSEqC is tricky! If you're still interested in trying to get your switch working then:
1. Wipe your TVServer's tv.log.
2. Attempt to scan a satellite transponder (one is enough) that requires DiSEqC and that isn't working.
3. Post the log here or PM me with it.

OK after some fiddling around It seems to happen right after I come out of SLEEP Mode. Otherwise CPU is normal. IF I go into sleep mode and come out of it the CPU usage goes up to 50% and stays there unless I reboot. I had set the computer to go into SLEEP mode after 5 hours of inactivity.
Do You think I should take it off SLEEP...
