I Had the same issue and i solved it.
1. first try to get coreavc codec and install it.
2.then set coreavc in the video post processing .
3. set tv codec h264 to use core avc.
this should solve the sync problem.

The MP installer suggests that Visual C++ 2008 is not installed and downloads and installs it whenever the installer is run. This is despite Windows (Add Remove) showing that it is installed. I have tried manually uninstalling and letting MP installer install the program. This makes no difference.

I got a strange problem:
I just updated some radio logos and of course they didn't work since I didn't delete the cache. So I remembered deleting the cache will make MP cache the graphics again and the logos will work.
But they didn't, MP did not cache the graphics, it just loaded the fonts again but no graphics...

It was just to set on configuration "Video renderer" the "EVR" instead of "VMR9". I dont know what is that, but now MP can play both videos and DVDs...

I see what you are trying to now, it makes sense. But perhaps you could make use of the import / export feature in future, this feature is available as of 1.1.0.
