Yes.
The TV guide info is grabbed from the internet, not your cable connecton. You dont even need a TV tuner installed to get EPG (Electronic Program Guide) data.
Not saying Marcusb's link is bad, but since you live in the US, this link may be more user friendly...

yeah I have the dx9 ex mode on. I think the problem lies somewhere within my system specs old geforce and s video , it only likes 60 hertz and the old test version 2rc with cvs that came out not long after that supported an ancient compro software card. just think it will be best to ditch it

I used to get it happening. Now I don't.
I applied the dual tuner patches at some point - perhaps that helped.
I wonder if the issue is the signal for aspect ratio change.
I use nvidia codec - this is the only codec I know of that handles aspect ratio changing perfectly.

I had the same problem before. As new to MP I was trying to get my blaster to work. Fortunately, it was easy. If you go to Plugins in MediaPortal Setup, try to find plugin called "Hauppauge IR Blaster". Double click it. Done.
