with the establishment of mp 1.2 the weak dvb-s signal problem got reduced a lot.
Nevertheless when there's a shower of rain outside my system will crash because of this.

Well if that is the case then you need to complain to the 4TR devs - we have no control over their plugin.
I don't have a multi-seat system so it is not possible for me to test this scenario, but for me I can stop the TV service and continue to use MP (not the TV or radio plugin of course) without any apparent problem...

My suggestion is to add the option to start radio playback when entering
the radio section as it is possible for live tv.
This way one could start mp with the radio playing directly from the start (given using MPstartit).
I hope my idea finds enough support as it should not be that difficult to implement this...
