Try installing the StreamedMP skin you get the plugins Moving Pictures & TV-Series with it. Go to MpConfig>Plugins>Moving Pictures/MP TV Series and set the path to your video files. Documentation is available and there are dedicated forum sections for each of these plugins. (They are way better that the My Videos plugin)
