Well, using the rounded covers would be most "important" for the cd cover on basic home, or for showing movie posters in IMDB/details view, where these aren't moving like in filmstrip or for icon/big icon.

Thats where the problems start, basichome has a random revolving image as a background and movies/tv series posters have to contend with fan art. You can get them, like StreamedMP, which uses a mask with thick shadow boarders to hide the corners.

May have to look at what is involved in adding extra functions to the skin engine, though suspect that if it was easy it would have been done already.

Looks awesome. I do prefer the smaller fanart "box" from the AEON previews though, and am also a bit curious why you don't put that to line up with the right edge (where the posters end). Hmmm. I'll create a mockup. I also have an idea for your view that might be cool. I'll send you a PM for that so you can consider it.

with all this talk about tv series going on, i was wondering if anyone has a copy of it that works with the new 2.2 version, i've had to put up with a garbled looking screen ever since the eye icons replaced greying out episodes.

i'm talking about the tv series feiles required, i've been trying to modify skinsettings.xml but i'm not having much joy, and now that there's a watched icon rather than greying names out, i seem to have a lot of 00's overlapping my episode and season names.
