Thanks for checking on the subtitle issue. For me and I'm sure others, subtitles are a must.

Yes I can get on the web page with Safari with no problems. When I use the same details in the iviewer setup I just get constant spinning icons then the fail message. It tries adding the port on the end of the address but that didn't work either. It's not a major issue as I can still use the browser but I wan't to sort it out. I'll keep checking and see if it's a firewall issue.

An you only entered the "mydyndns.dyndns.tv" part in the "IP Address" field?
Then press "Check connections" button to check that it works.
Send me a pm if you want me to try your credentials at my side. You can also test mine.

    Yes I did.

I only changed the ports out of desperation lol. I knew it wasn't that and set them back to default.

I'm moving home this weekend so time is a bit short. When I can sit down and spend a bit of time on it I'll try other options and make sure everything is in right. If I'm still having problems, I'll PM you and we can go from there.

Thanks again for your quick replies to my problems.. It is really appreciated. I was a little annoyed about the subtitle issue but I feel confident now that you'll do everything you can to find a solution.

Ok, pm me later in then if you don't get external access to work. It 'should' not be any problem if the same url works in Safari in the iPad.

Btw, have you tried to turn off wifi on your ipad when you test so it uses 3g/4g? Some routers has problems with using the external address when on the internal network.

I have already emailed the Command Fusion dev. about subtitle support. We will see what happens but one need to be aware of that they are swamped with development work on their own and working on getting a new iViewer version out at the same time as new hardware.

    Cheers,

    Johan

Hi folks. I'm using mediaportal server on a laptop (media files on local HDD) and ipad as my client and got most functions on the ipad working ok except streaming. I can use the ipad as a remote and play videos, music etc on MP but when I click on the Stream icon the streaming window pops up with the title of the file but no video/audio stream. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

I have MPExtender, wifiremote all connecting fine and tested ok. IP addresses, MAC addresses, and credentials all checked and ok for server & MPExtender. I installed latest beta version of MPExtender. I can browse all recorded shows, movies and music. I have also opened port 4322 in the firewall.

Figured it out! (whew) the MPExtended and WifiRemote config credentials matched MP credentials but were different from my Windows credentials so Windows blocked access to streaming the files. Changed all credentials to match, and streaming works now. Hope this post helps others.

    Hello all,

I had a question about the iviewer if you dont mind. I wouldve posted it in the Ask u anyting thread but it appears to be closed

I currently use a slingbox to stream my freesat PVR in the UK to the US where i watch it via slingfront on my HTPC. I also use MP on this HTPC for movies and such streaming from my local NAS. The slingbox works fairly well, the streaming is smooth and HD but the interface is slow and clunky. I am considering building another HTPC to replace the freesat PVR in the UK for the purpose of 1) so i can save recordings as .ts files and FTP them to my NAS in the US and 2) because it would be far more customisable and i could potentially improve the interface

My question is does the iviewer ipad app allow "operate" the host HTPC remotely e.g. to change channels remotely? or start recordings remotely?

EDIT: i mean control remotely when not on the LOCAL wifi either by 3g or another network (say in another country...)

    Thanks in advance

Yes, you can either remote control your htpc or stream content to the iPad.

Yeah. Both local and over the internet is working (if your portforwarding and firewall is correctly configured)

Maybe the server is/was too busy when you tried to authenticate. I occasionally run into that too, also with the opensubtitles api I regularly get 429's... there isn't much that can be done about it, except making sure the software isn't hammering the service and having patience...

I did a check of MP 1.36 x64 on Win11 and I can confirm, that the TV server correctly detects running MediaPortal.exe process.

Hi This is a general question about OnX. I have been using the TvWishList plugin for a while and have recently updated (update install) from MP 1.36 x86 to 1.37 x86 and found there seemed to be no Onx menu in the TV guide. I then configured the onx.presets.xml file like I would normally do with updates or fresh installs, but still...

If you’re planning to submit a pull request, let’s go through the list of issues and their solutions. I or someone from the team will create a Jira ticket, and for each ticket, you’ll make the changes and submit a pull request. This will be transparent and straightforward.

Depends on what you mean by the word "works". The module is quite complete and functional.
