i turned off the automatic scan. Now it works!
Ive also fixed the virtual drive problem, just a few settings that i'd changed earlier..
So, now im on my quest to find out why it freezes when it scans :)

Just a quick update: my patch for that bug that you mentioned has been accepted. SVN has been updated already and the fix will be in 1.2.0rc as I had hoped. Please test 1.2.0rc if possible when it is released to check that the fix is effective for you.

Did your drive come with playback software? You should be able to use that and one of the plugins to play it. I use total media Theatre 3 and the arcsoft plugin and blu-ray plays fine (even automatice refresh rate changes!!!! (with anyDVD HD))

Seems that when it crashed the config got stuffed up.
The log file I posted above showed a conflict where a card had been mapped to card group twice.
Removed the 2nd mapping:
delete * from cardgroupmap where idmapping=6;
All good!
