My provider just supplies the Smardcard. They do have a settopbox you can use but you are also allowed to use it directly in your tv. I have forwarded my question to DD and I am waiting for an answer from them.

Yes, there are logs. You can find them in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log\ (see -->here<-- for more information about where MediaPortal and TV Server files are kept). It would be better if you could use the Watchdog because it includes information about what Windows updates you have installed etc...

Cause for the issue:
Some drivers / audio HW behave differently when it comes to keeping the audio stream "active". Just test with the inbuild speaker test in Windows 7. The beginning of the test sounds are cut of with some HW / drive / amp configurations.

I haven't the faintest idea what I did (or what happened); but this problem seems to have resolved on it's own. I'm able to get remote control access to MediaPortal after TMT5 closes. It's strange - but I can't complain.

Sorry for the trouble, this would never had happen if the MP Extension Installer would not have two critical bugs:
a) Plugin version compatibility check does not work correctly, therefore the plugin can be installed on MP 1.1.x even if it is not compatible.
b) Uninstaller does not remove all installed files, in this case...

Strange thing happened to my system yesterday: life tv video froze, I rebooted the system, and now I can't get any tv with ffdshow...
That sounds really strange. But in MP 1.2.0.0 (Beta) the handling of this has changed quite a lot (playing a track in a folder now adds the whole folder to the playlist and plays the playlist).
It maybe a bit overkill, but why not try MP 1.2.0.0 Beta? (Make a backup first).
Otherwise please start MP in Debug Mode (start Menu)...
