What did you switch off?

Codecs are a big issue. I recommend the standard Microsoft ones if you're using Windows 7, or the Cyberlink ones for any other operating system. They both tend to just work. Logs would be helpful because I'm finding it tough to understand...

without logs and without your system specification it will be difficult (or impossible) to help you.
However, first hints:
- do you see both cards in the control panel ?

What is your ffdshow audio config (on the output page)? If passhtru ticked for DTS?
If not, try ticking it - This will then pass DTS straight thru without any conversion.

I doubt it very much simply because MediaPortal is open source software and developing hardware costs money.
If I remember correctly MediaPortal 2 is supposed to be based on UPNP/DLNA so when that's ready for release you might be able to use a hardware DLNA box to connect to it, but you could be waiting a while.
