Why must mediaportal be so incredibly slow when it doesn't have the focus?!
Is there some sort of workaround?
also, this "feature" (bug) should be much better documented.
i use milkdrop for my visuals and when mediaportal (not milkdrop) loses the focus, my framerates go down from about 40fps to 8fps !

Dude, i got the same condition you got.
Every once in while after waking up mp hangs with "Initializing DirectX", restarting of TV-Service does not help, only rebooting helps.
I do notice we have the same chipset ( ATI 690g ) on the rigg. Maybe it is one of the odds of them again?

I use PDVD9. Went back to 8 and same thing. Using the MPC Gabest codec it doesn't seem to occur.

Yes everything is ok and back to normal. MP is correctly going to sleep mode and wakes up correctly. Recordings are going well.

mp3 is decoded by the PC therefore the PC can control the volume

Didn't fix this as such, but used the usertsp=no option to work around it. Can now play all recorded tv from the Recorded Tv menu.
Channel changing seems slightly slower using this method, but usable. Other than that, the whole system seems much more stable than prevous - thanks devs!
