The first victory - I renamed "mediaportal.xml.bak" to "mediaportal.xml" and everything went OK.
Strange enough - I had too many problems with TVServer3 that made me switch it off forever.

cheers, it would appear that when i re-installed media portal, powerDVD decoder became the default and that was knackering everything up. Seems to be working fine now. :thx:

Since you are looking to have a "music/photos/weather" front-end I would suggest taking a different approach, due to the fact MP has a REQUIREMENT of needing a DX9 video card. It seems you are trying to make MP fit your needs and sometimes that is not th ebest direction!

You are correct Oyard. It will only work with ASX type streams. The wwiTV plug shows the stream type so that you can manually pass over the non-playable streamtypes.
