I'm not sure about other cards, but the Hauppauge cards send their audio over the bus (meaning they don't require a line input on the sound card).

Just a small request, I think it would be really handy that in the mytv/search feature, if you search by genre (as i frequently do, ie movies) and highlight a particular program, its epg description is shown at the bottom of the screen. Just like MP does when you search by title.

Both the DScaler and the MPEG2 audio codec have the "Dynamic range control" feature for this. It'll increase the volume dynamically. I personally prefer not to use this option, since it has side-effects, too. BTW, many TV's use the same kind of technique to level the audio, too.

No currently it wouldn't be and wouldn't be possible without MP code changes due to the way that dialogs are invoked and their content specified - the content is provided by code and not by markup.

It could be furthered by having another timeshifting option that automatically kicked in when you'd been watching for a couple of minutes. As soon as you change the channel it's off an stays off until you settle on a channel again, this would speed up channel hopping!
