Have you tried the debug client? It works well in helping you figure out which bit is not talking to which other bit. Also, try opening translator and try mapping any old button to send some learnt IR command to BOTH blasters. If you have the MCE blasters, they flash when emitting.

i have installed the latest IRSS beta version on MP 1.0.1 on XP MCE2005.
thi thing is that now MCE itself doesn't recognize the blaster. when i'm runinng the TV setup, i can see the TV but the next step for configuring the blaster STB, MCE say that i don't have IR hardware.
the blaster works fine in MP.

i reinstalled IRSS a few times, deleted the c:\ProgramData\IR server suite folder and eventually found something that works under the input service configuration -> MCE config -> disable default inputs (or something similar)
