This is a skinning issue really. It is possible and pretty easy for a skin to provide a default cover image when none exists in the same way that a default backdrop is already provided. You should post in the forum for the skin you use to get this updated.

I can definitely vouch that using a shared database works great if only one MediaPortal instance run at a time.
The sync option might be the best if multiple instances are going to run at the same time. Guess it is best to test.

I have both problems with MP, startup takes forever (server and client running on XP, both X2 3000+, about 450 movies on an internal Gbit LAN, database on client side) and when it starts, browsing is sluggish and stutters. I have a problem deleting movies from the GUI. Some movies deletes fine, while other movies gives me a "delete failed" message. Why is that?
