this is a very awesome simple tip:
you can mount the 'Moving Pictures' backdrop and covers folders as Picture folders from within...
i came up with some cool ideas. here they are:

Zinu: using UNC paths like that doesn't involve volume serials and your movies won't get deleted when the share is offline so you should be fine either way ;)

The problem was solved on my two HTPCs by deleting movingpictures.db3, and reimporting all the movies info, with the VCD setup as "Daemon Tools" on MP.
No both HTPCs works ok within Moving Pictures and My Video. VCD is much faster than DT and don´t show the mounting/unmounting message box.

For what it's worth we do have an issue in our tracker open to rereview the current setup as there does seem to be quite a bit of confusion on date sorting. :( Probably we will get to this in 0.9.

I wouldn't worry about it, from further examination it wasn't only movies that were missing. It seems some "larger" files were missing from my hi-rez audio library, too.
