Search for MediaInfoLite, install and right click on File. Attach output here. Best is to compare a working and a not working file.
BTW Codec packs are evil, all of them. Get rid of asap. Only Windows7 Codecs and LAVF, that's all you need for MP to work proper.

Re: mkv file linking doesn't work
In grapgstudio haail is used but it only show the runtime of the first file. So then I uninstalled haail and reinstalled it and now it works. Don't know what happen to haail, maybe LAV splitter did something to it's installation?
