Hey @johanj, hope you are fine? Read something about health issues in the other thread. Hopefully nothing serious...

I have a huge problem with MPExtended, and since the dev-gurus don't have the time to look at, I am writing it here, maybe you have an idea:

MPExtended is pretty often eating up my cpu resourrces in idle mode. CPU load on an i5 is then 90-100%. As said, on idle, not whilst converting/streaming something. Log with all sorts of errors attached.

    Hi

All is fine with me, I'm home during the autumn for paternity leave with my youngest boy. It's Joost that has health issues. It's nothing new, it has been like this for quite some time. But he nowadays need to limit his workload and he is now mainly focused on MPiV and our personal home control integration in iViewer(Heating, lighting, cameras etc).

It's unfortunate that MPExt. development has stalled, I hope that someone will continue asap. I can not help you with issues in the service.

I'm not using iViewer for streaming that much but have also seen issues where the service fail during streaming of TV, don't think it has happened when streaming other media. When it fails it's the TAS part that fail to reply and MPiV will not start. A restart of the MPExt. service and it works again.

Could you check the service status with sc when it fails or give high CPU load? Hopefully it will report something.
    http://ss64.com/nt/sc.html

As a workaround it would be possible to schedule a check and restart of the service with a batch file if one can see that it fails. Not optimal but could work until the issue is fixed.

Btw, we have come quite far with the 1.2 update of MPiV;)

Ah. I'm sorry, didn't remember correct.

Yeah, have this quite often that streaming isnt working/not starting in MPiV. So probably reproducible.

    Will do.

I have no problems with workarounds...but how would I check that cpu-load is too high? Or do you mean a regular restart of a service every x hours?

Just check the service with the sc tool if you think the service has failed for some reason, e.g. high cpu load when just idle or not replying when starting MPiV. My idea was that one can make a script that check the status of the service e.g. every five minute. I.e. schedule the script to run every five minute. But then we need to see that the service has failed in order to restart the service, not sure that we do that.

Otherwise one can try to make the http request to the TAS serice with CURL and see if it replies.

Will try at home. But I am not sure, if the service failed since MPExtended Config was still reactive...

I hope that sc will tell that the service has failed even though configurator works. For me only the TAS part of the services fails but MAS still works. However, it's a long shot and one maybe need to check TAS to see that the service has failed.

    Hi All,

Well I bought the full version, upgraded the server etc and all seems ok apart from subtitles. I select the video, click on the subtitles icon and select English but none show. They show fine using a web browser to the same server.

Also, can I use an external address to connect? I've tried but get red crosses all over. Again, I know it's working as I use it all the time via a web browser. I do use a dynamic dns server as I don't have a static home ip.

    Thanks

    Hi Jodesi

Subtitles is currently not supported on the iViewer player for iOS unfortunately, that is when streaming media to the iPad. We hope that it will be added further on by Command Fusion.

I use a dyndns myself for both use at home and at outside own network so it should work. Note that you enter the address without "http://", e.g.

    IP Address: "mydyndns.dyndns.tv"[DOUBLEPOST=1414226867][/DOUBLEPOST]Hi Jodesi

    Thanks for the reply johanj

The subtitles not being supported isn't good for me as i'm very hard of hearing so for now it makes the app unusable.

I did try with my dynamic dns address how you said but it still won't find the server. I'll look into it more.

Hi This is a general question about OnX. I have been using the TvWishList plugin for a while and have recently updated (update install) from MP 1.36 x86 to 1.37 x86 and found there seemed to be no Onx menu in the TV guide. I then configured the onx.presets.xml file like I would normally do with updates or fresh installs, but still...
