All TVs that claim 24p compatibility actually can handle 23.976fps and 24fps material even though most of them just say 24p because the consumer knows what it means. Same as referring to NTSC with 60Hz even when it really isn't. So this shouldn't be a issue for any recent model of a larger manufacturer. As for 100Hz or 200Hz, this...

I have given up on removing jerky panning on HDTV. SDTV material on my PAL transmission looks great, but as soon as I watch live or recorded HDTV, all panning scenes are jerky. Zooming and stills are perfect. I tried all possible frequencies, deinterlacing modes, resolutions with no sucess. My Panasonic plasma 42PV60 I think has a...

Hi, My HTPC and TV and currently share a common wall with my bedroom. I've been thinking about running cables through the wall and putting a cheap 24" monitor in the bedroom.(+ Speakers and IR receiver) I'll set it up so that it just clones the current monitor. My question is will this work? and will it put extra strain on my...

Re. component output - I'm pretty sure the component output on current ATi cards is on the same connector as the composite/s-video output - you just need the correct cable (but check first that your card does support component output). It will look better than s-video, and it supports 720p output. Tony

Hi Andrew, sorry for not filling out the profile. I will do that when I have more time. A have a AMD 780G with integrated ATI graphic card, Athlon 4850e,WinXP and Mediaportal 1.02. The profiles are already implemented in CCC but when I switch to 2 displays, problem 2 occurs (mediaportal stays black). Thus, I think the best solution...

I have a Mitsubishi HC6000 projector which I have hooked up to my HTPC via a HDMI splitter box and it's great. Even DVDs look pretty good on the 2m wide screen, hi-def stuff looks awesome. Admittedly I have a fairly "old" LCD panel (also hooked up to the HDMI splitter), but the picture on my projector is actually better than the TV...

I´m thinking about buying a Sanyo PLV-Z700 Beamer (I just need a 720p beamer with Lensshift (see picture) - 1080p is just an add-on in this case) for a room of 6.5 to 4.2 meters with a big glass front (see picture - the marked area in blue is the window). SOLVED! The problem is in fact in the TV settings. You have to go in the Define inputs setting and set the HDMI input to "PC". In this case the TV will not deinterlace the picture, so it will not shake. Now the picture is perfect! Well, it leaves you with the interlaced picture, but you can't notice it from a normal viewing...

Interesting, i did as you said but the desktop was considerably smaller than the screen. I then did some overscan to the tune of 15% to make it fit the screen but the picture wasnt the greatest. Im better of keeping to the VGA. Its an interesting problem. It might be driver related or limitations of the 1250 onboard graphics.
