The solution was to wipe and reinstall. I now have my Hauppauge WinTV-HVR-2250 working well with MediaPortal. I suspect uninstalling the old card and installing the WinTV-HVR-2250 messed up TV-Server. I do not have EPG working yet. The native resolution of your TV is 1024x768 - and that's neither 1080p nor 720p. Did you use the 1024x768? If not you may want to set your PC to 1024x768 and let MediaPortal handle the resolution.
