Go to the movie section in MediaPortal configuration and create a database by scanning your movie folders:
MediaPortal/Configuration/Movies/Database - MediaPortal Manual Documentation
After that start MP, navigate to the movie section and switch the view to database:

Well all I did was to move the 4 jumpers on the motherboard (one for each USB port) and then enable it in the BIOS and it worked.
It could be that your motherboard doesn't support it, but that makes it kinda weird that they have the setting in the BIOS, but then again they could've just "forgotten" or rather not bothered to remove...
