I have tried to do some further research, and it seems that Viasat has implemented a new 'version' of NDS on the HD channels. I'm not 100% sure this is true, but a lot of people claim that there is some hardware in the box that now does half the trick!!! Thanks ade..... that's a good tip which I'll keep in mind if I go through this process again. May not have helped my new card not configuring properly, but certainly could help with getting rid of the old card out of the config.

Let's say it like this. If I use hibernate in combination with the "EPG idle grabber" it works in 99% of all cases. But if I set the system into standby mode it hangs in 90% of all cases after wakeup. The issue is hard to nail down and I hope that it will just be fixed by repairing other things in in the EPG area. :-)

1. Only scan for SAT and export channels
2. Delete all channels
3. Only scan for cable and import sat-only-channels
4. There comes a warning about duplicates I just ignore
5. Channels with same name are now properly assigned to sat-freq and cable-freq

It does, and the fact that I can connect with mysql administrator and phpmyadmin to my home makes things even more confusing. Everything connects apart from mediaportal AND the MPTvClient V1.1.5. I assume it must be something to do with the way the details are passed to the client.

For any reason that I do not understand at all, many of the files in the TeamMedialportal directory & sub-directory had a status of "hidden" !
I've done a mass change onto the whole directory to unhide all files, ... and the problem has gone now :)
