Thanks for posting this how-to!! it worked for me and allowed me to see that Windows 7 was overriding my decoder choices in MP and was able to fix my video stuttering problem!!

My stand-alone HTPC only uses 2 Watts when sleeping (and an Atom+Ion box probably somewhat less) so power consumption shouldn't really be an issue....

Nothing to do with MediaPortal - it has come on by leaps and bounds and is the front end for my HTPC (Sky, FreeSat & FreeView)...

Changed to MP 1.1.0 Beta and tried to rebuild my Video Database.
Files are recognised and included but I dont manage to retrieve the cover pages anymore.
Links are shown in the Cover-Tab of MP config, but no pictures. (number of choices are quite limited compared to the 1.0 version)

Well I just upgraded to 1.1.0 beta and the new StreamedMP and everything works good, and the blacks in EVR look good now, plus I can play MKV files AND xvid/avi so I think I'm good for now! :) Heres to hoping I won't run across any weird bugs!

I have installed MP1.0.2 on a Windows XP machine and having a bit of trouble adding multiple video...
It behaves exactly the same on my (Vista) system too when just TV server is running - it doesn't reset the idle timer on keyboard/mouse activity either....

Did you check the box in the general MP config to restart MP when resuming from standby (or whatever its called)?
I do not have this box checked.
Perhaps you clicked it.
I imagine that if you do check it then MP has to completely close and re-open which takes a while.
