It's a great problem! There are a lot notebook with basic gpu and i think that is impossible that MP no work ( buy new notebook for see a tv channel?) . I think that have a similar problem on my acer with x700 and for test netbook msi wind, together no work video live and record by client MP write (audio:) only.

You can provide logs as per MediaPortal Forum - Announcements in Forum : General Support
It must be some plugin which forces MP to close. Try disabling extra plugins in configuration and you'll see which one gives you the problem.

I am saving my pictures on a storage i my network.
After i am starting a diashow with pictures the CPU increases to 60 per cent.
After i am stopping the Diashow the CPU is still so high, even if i go to the main menu and do nothing.

I have had that problem before. You should just follow the advice of Macavity. Just do it once and everything should be fine. you don't have to do it every day.
Try: "force import" -> it works -> stop TV service -> start TV service -> slightly modify tvguide.xml so that is it imported once again -> it should work.

Deleting them from medioportal GUI is indeed the wright solution.
But: I've noticed a lot of strange file names of videos. I've renamed them to normal ones (=fysical file rename) (fe. with no special unicode chars). I've did a rescan, so the new appeared in the MP video db, but the old still exits in the db...
