You are right, it is pretty cool to have the server ready at anytime :)
But the question here is that TVE3 was the only way to have mediaportal working with my new Hauppauge HVR-1300.
When using Mediaportal 0.2.2.0 or Mediaportal 0.2.2.0 + svn some kind of memory leak happens when adding/editing/opening the analogue tuner...

If it works like my iMon PAD, and it probably does, it will work just fine. It doesn't need explicit support, as it emulates keyboard and mouse. Just download one of the configuration profiles posted on the forums and you'll have it working in no time. Search is your firend ;) .

Well I think I know the problem but I still need a solution. It appears that any time the small preview window overlays the elapsed time it will not display the video. So my tv, my movie trailers, etc. work and my movies, my music videos or any thing with and elapsed time overlay does not.

Sorry pihrt, my suggestion was mainly for dewmaster07. You're problem is definitely different since you're using DVB-T like you said.
Your problem sounds like it's not deinterlacing the video. If you're using the MPV codec, try turning on bob or weave deinterlacing under decoder filters in the MP configuration.
