I had the same kind of problem. If you still want to use the internal player, try :
1) Run media portal and make it crash, reboot.
2) Look at the logs files in the Media Portal\log folder. Look for strange errors.

I use mediaportal for music only.
I have disabled all other modules in the menu but when mp starts up I still have to select the music module which is annoying for me.
So Is it possible that mp automatically starts in the music module?

Hm, I don't know. We have 4 choices:
1. Leave as it is. Not good.
2. Disable force. Changing things is always a risk.
3. Provide an option to enable/disable force.
4. Try without force. If after 1 minute no luck, try again with force. I'd prefer this.

Well call me crazy but I did it. I bought a 430W Thermaltake Tr2 today and tested it. Everything ran PERFECTLY with this powersupply. Thanks for the help. As you know this PSU won't fit in my case.. I would be using the S-Video for my xbox, so i wouldnt require the use of MediaPortal for it. The Kworld application would be OK for me.
