Correct me if I am wrong but it would appear from your post that you are bringing the RF from the STB into your PC on a fixed channel. MP does not appear to support that.
From what I have read you will need to bring the A/V into the htpc either using component, SVHS, or A/V inputs. That is to say make a new hareware connection...

Well the card does says Full MPEG2 supported, not sure if that is the same as hardware MPEG. But I know I do have it set to hardware on the Nvidia forceware software. and it does have an integrated TV encoder too, not sure if that helps but it should.
Haven't tried diff decoders, any suggestions on which decoders to try?

If this is when using the first time wizard so: skip most of the stuff with next button. If a error cames up just move the window away & continue with next until finish. After the wizard it's finished open MP Setup -> Television -> Capture Cards & " your card" & Edit & then scan for channels.
