You can try and "attack" this from potentially two sides...does your TV support different scanning modes? (JustScan/Overscan/underscan)

I have finally managed to get the time to setup my system and the last days I have been testing it rigorously to see how it works...

Since you're running Windows 7, I'd suggest the task manager is a great place to start. Especially take a look at the performance tab - there should be HDD utilisation measurements by process listed in there.

Thanks for that, but, if you had read the whole thread you would have seen that it was a problem within mysql. Everything else had been tried by myself prior to contacting help, ticking unticking every combination. Changing to MSsql has resolved these problems, touch wood no missed recordings , fail to start or bad shutdown..
