I would suggest that you stick with your old TV little while longer. LCD TVs are getting better and cheaper by the minute and that’s what I recommend when they get good and cheep enough :)

When using Newegg, its always best to select Fedex for shipping, UPS pretty much sucks.
Anyway the bits are all together, see sig, after some probs with the onboard sound which i remedied by disabling it and using a soundblaster audigy, I must say I am quite impressed with the result. Menus are snappier, less waiting around for...

Cool!
I have, as mentioned above, exchanged the PSU fan (the new Nexus is mounted on the outsiede and is much quieter).
Problem is the CPU fan. I'm controlling it with SpeedFan, but when RPS<2000 an alarm goes of - and nothing to do about it in BIOS, either.
Are you exp. the same?

A soundcard can make a big difference and SPDIF out does not necessarily signify that you get a 1:1 signal from an audio CD!
Most onboard sound and consumer cards (soundblaster audigy...) resample the audiosignal internally and put out a signal with a sampling rate of 48kHz. Most audio files have a sample rate of 44,1kHz.
I've an...

Great build! The system looks beautiful! I really wanted to go with that case but just couldn't sqeeze everything in.
Just some comments/opinions here:
The BIOS/CPU support issue is a growing problem I've seen with manufacturers. BIOS updates to support bug fixes and new CPUs seem to be getting rare as they would rather...

HI all,
just an update really, still no joy. I can't decode either Channel 4 of 5 via sky. I've tried the cam setting, which originally I had set to default & tried other settings but didn't make any difference.
Its just these two channels that are giving me a problem.

scott,
i had the exact same problem as you described, it has happened maybe since 1.3 at a guess that if you record a show the screen goes blank, so you can't actually watch what you are recording, even tho its actually recording, i had to change the codec i was using because it only seems to happen on that codec, now i have nvidia...

The process taking all the CPU time is simply mediaportal.exe!
It's not like the bug in My Music though - the cpu usage, while wandering a bit isn't particularly spikey and remains even if I minimise MP to the tray.
I experimented a little more and discovered that I get less CPU usage if I use other codecs (ie not Purevideo). I...

It basicly depends on the quality of the ad converters of the vga port.
I have 26" LCD tv and I didn't see any difference in picture quality.
There is only one thing I'm considering, as I live in 50Hz europe, the vga input can be switched to 75Hz which is a multiple of 50Hz. Which should give better sync between picture and sound...

ok that is fair enough - but believe me, you don't have to look so high

than you can change the case etc. if you want
