Having trouble installing or configuring MediaPortal?
Wow! I guess I never plugged a speaker into this computer before so it could recognize the audio hardware. Just assumed it would see the mobo sound chips and take it from there. A five second fix and we have channels! I think we can mark this one as solved!!! Thank you so much!!!

Thank you for pointing me in this direction, I've had some success after selecting "Australia-All Regions Safe" instead of "QLD-Gold Coast".
Seems the pre-set Gold Coast list is incorrect on MediaPortal, for me at least (northern end of the Gold Coast).

Find a solution had to find the Windows ID for the MP-TV Series Extention:

i uninstalled 1 plugin (HTPCInfo by Micropolis)
Now MePo starts up just fine, no errors, everything is good :)
Your comment about debug mode only loading the essentials started me thinking; HTPCinfo was the only extra plugin i installed apart from my normal install...
